Starting a manufacturing partnership can feel like a black box from the outside: how do you actually get from “we want to launch a product” to a finished, compliant item on a shelf? This guide breaks down the different ways you can collaborate with us, and exactly what happens at each stage of the process.

Ways to Collaborate With Us
Not every brand needs the same kind of partnership. Depending on where your product currently stands, and how much control you want over the formulation, there are several collaboration models to choose from.
White Label Collaboration
You choose from existing, proven formulations and apply your own branding and packaging. This is the fastest route to market, with lower minimum order quantities and no formulation development time.
Private Label Collaboration
You get a fully custom formulation built to your specifications, then branded exclusively for you. It takes longer and typically requires higher minimum order quantities, but the result is a product no competitor can replicate. Our Private Label vs. White Label guide breaks down which one fits your stage of growth.
Custom Formulation
Our R&D team develops an entirely new cosmetic or supplement formula around your brief, ingredients, target market, and positioning. This sits at the core of private label work and is also available as a standalone service if you already have your own filling and packaging setup.
Filling Services
If you already have a finished formula (or choose one from our catalog), we handle filling, capping, labeling, and packaging, without touching the formulation itself.
Tolling
If you have raw material or an intermediate that needs one specific conversion step, extraction, distillation, isolation, or blending, we process it and return the converted material to you. You keep ownership of the material throughout; we handle the single processing step.
Toll Manufacturing
If you own your raw material long-term and want an ongoing processing partnership rather than a one-off job, toll manufacturing is the standing version of tolling. You still own the material and pay a processing fee for our GMP-certified equipment and expertise, we don’t formulate or deliver a finished, branded product under this model. For a fully finished product built from your material, private label is the right fit instead.
Raw & Bulk Materials Supply
Some partners don’t need a finished product at all, just reliable, tested raw and bulk materials, such as CBD isolate, distillate, or crude extract, to formulate in-house or hand off to their own manufacturer.
Collaboration Models Compared
| Model | Who owns the material | Formulation included | What you get back |
| White Label | PharmaHemp | No (proven formula) | Branded, market-ready product |
| Private Label | PharmaHemp | Yes (custom-built) | Branded, market-ready product |
| Custom Formulation | Either | Yes | A finished formula (standalone or feeding into private label) |
| Filling Services | You | No | Your finished formula, filled and packaged |
| Tolling | You | No | Your material, processed through one step |
| Toll Manufacturing | You | No | Your material, processed on an ongoing basis |
| Raw & Bulk Materials | PharmaHemp (until purchase) | No | Raw material (isolate, distillate, crude extract) |
The Partnership Process, Step by Step
However you choose to collaborate, the path from first contact to finished product generally follows the same five stages.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
We start by understanding your goals, target markets, and product vision. This conversation determines which collaboration model, white label, private label, custom formulation, filling, tolling, or toll manufacturing, actually fits your business.
Step 2: Formulation Selection or Development
Depending on Step 1, you either select a proven formulation from our existing portfolio or work with our R&D team to develop something new from scratch.
Step 3: Sample Production
Before any large-scale commitment, we produce samples so you can evaluate quality, texture, performance, and compliance firsthand.
Step 4: Regulatory Review and Label Approval
We review documentation, ingredient compliance, and labeling against the regulations of your target markets, so there are no surprises once the product is ready to ship.
Step 5: Full-Scale Production and Delivery
Once everything is approved, production scales up under the same GMP-certified quality controls used at every stage, from small pilot batches to large commercial runs.
What to Prepare Before Reaching Out
A few things speed up the initial consultation considerably:
- A rough idea of your target market(s) and any specific regulatory requirements
- Whether you’re leaning toward white label (faster) or private label/custom formulation (more differentiated)
- Estimated order volumes, even a rough range helps us scope MOQs and timelines
- Any existing raw materials you plan to supply, if you’re considering tolling or toll manufacturing
- Packaging preferences or constraints, if you already have design direction in mind
You don’t need definitive answers to all of these before you reach out. Part of the initial consultation is working through them together.
Why Partner With Us
Every collaboration, regardless of model, runs through the same GMP-certified facility, audited annually by an accredited third-party body under ISO 22716. That means the same traceability, batch testing, and documentation standards apply whether you’re filling an existing formula or building a fully custom one from raw hemp biomass.
We’ve worked with brands at every stage, from first-time founders testing a white label product to established international companies scaling private label lines across multiple markets. FAQ
How do I know which collaboration model is right for me?
It depends mainly on two things: how fast you want to launch, and how much control you need over the material and formulation. White label and filling services get you to market faster; private label gives you a unique, proprietary formulation; tolling and toll manufacturing are the right fit if you already own raw material and want it processed under our GMP-certified operations.
Can I start with one model and switch to another later?
Yes. Many brands start with white label or filling services to launch quickly and generate revenue, then move to private label once they understand their customers and want a proprietary formulation, or to tolling and toll manufacturing once they’ve secured their own raw material supply.
How long does the partnership process take from first contact to finished product?
It varies by model. White label products can be market-ready in a few weeks, while custom formulations and private label products typically take longer due to formulation development, testing, and regulatory review.
Do I need to already have a formulation to start collaborating?
No. If you don’t have a formulation, our R&D team can develop one from scratch as part of a private label or custom formulation collaboration.
What happens during the sample production stage?
We produce a small batch based on the agreed formulation so you can test quality, texture, and performance before committing to full-scale production.
What’s the difference between tolling and toll manufacturing?
Tolling is a single processing step on material you own, we run one operation and return it to you. Toll manufacturing is the same client-owned-material model as an ongoing relationship, covering one or more processing steps over time. Neither includes formulation or delivers a finished, branded product, that’s what private label and white label are for.
